20 years of scamming small businesses
For more than 20 years Aucklander Ashley Guy Rhodes made money from New Zealand businesses by copying their ads from other magazines and faxing them over with a request for approval.
Those who signed and faxed back would be billed by him, and sometimes abused and threatened with court action if they did not pay.
DoL in dock over height equipment
Failure to regulate suspect certifications of height access machinery is putting lives at risk and threatens a recently introduced system for control, according to the Elevating Work Platform Association of New Zealand.
In correspondence obtained by subby, EWPANZ secretary Bryan Nunweek accuses the Department of Labour of failure to act against suspect certifications and says the department has ‘deliberately misled’ the association.

Kiwibank gm of business banking Peter Meggison says that in six years of operation, even during recession times, growth has been steady.
Meggison says many plumbers and electricians have taken up Kiwibank services and infrastructure and construction contractors also have business accounts.
